Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
Oversee statistical support to multiple projects, including defining general strategic approach, creating Statistical Analysis Plans (SAP) and producing individual protocols.
Work independently or with other departmental members or consultants, to develop effective statistical approaches applicable to projects.
Oversee execution of statistical analyses, preparation of the statistical methods and results sections for clinical study reports (CSR), and production of overall summaries. Review and approve key results memos and statistical conclusions.
Provide general guidance on definition and documentation of key derived variables needed to support production of tables, listings, and graphs (TLG). Effect consistency of data collection and analysis across project or area.
Plan and track project activities, timelines, and resource use across projects. Provide justification for planned resource needs. Seek to optimize resource utilization and capacity.
Oversee and lead the development of standard statistical documents including TLFs, SAP, Programming specs, SAS macros, standardized CDISC compliant data set documentation, and SOPs.
Ensure mentoring and development of staff. Encourage personal development in the context of project work. Learn and apply techniques to promote teamwork, quality, and motivation. Manage conflict.
Engage colleagues, key opinion leaders, co-investigator, vendor, and related functions on strategy of research and evidence needs, protocol development, statistical analysis, interpretation and presentation of study results, design and develop health economic models (cost utility, cost effectiveness, cost offset, budget impact, etc.).
Conduct both interventional/non-interventional research projects for HEOR function.
Conduct retrospective study using hospitals' charge data, claim data, and EMR data.
Provide input on study operation, CRFs design, database specification, and combing priority data and secondary data.
Assess information environment and analytical tool set to ensure current needs are met and future needs are communicated.
Timely and effectively communicate project status and results to all stakeholders.
Presenting research results in professional meetings.
Authoring research for publication in scientific journals.
Managing budgets and timelines.
Managing vendors and internal analysts for outsourced projects or internal projects.
Travel required - 20%
PhD/MS in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Statistics, or Health Services Research
10 years of experience obtaining and analyzing big-data (e.g., IMS, Truven, Optum, Epic, etc.) and institutional level data expected.
8 years exeperience working in a Health Outcomes CRO/consultancy.
4 years experience analyzing EMR data from BOTH inpatient and outpatient settings, minimum of 2 different EMR systems.
At least 2 years of supervising HEOR analysts/statisticians.
Expreience with Machine Learning using EMR is a plus.
Broad knowledge and superior understanding of advanced statistical concepts and techniques.
Innovatively applies technical principles, theories, and concepts to clinical development and life cycle management.
Understanding of the “business of medicine” in hospital settings is expected, including quality measures and impact of quality on pay for performance measures. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills required.
Hand-on skill with SAS, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
