General Scope and Summary
SAGE Therapeutics is searching for an experienced, creative, and self-motivated health economist. This individual will be responsible for helping to develop health economic evidence & the operational execution of dossiers suitable for HTA submissions (primarily for EU reimbursements). This HTA specialist will help manage health economic/outcome projects to demonstrate the value of Sage’s products to support broad access to our novel therapies.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the development of HTA dossiers to support EU and US reimbursement submissions.
Provides advice on HEOR dossier and HTA submission methods, summarize key learnings from HTA assessments of relevant existing therapies, identifies trends and anticipates future changes and their impact on HTAs, HEOR, and access strategies.
Identify and utilize appropriate data and analytical methods to support the value proposition of Sage’s products given local variations in treatment patterns and cost.
Assists in the development and adaptation of economic models (e.g., cost-effectiveness, budget impact) to support product launch and reimbursement in the US and/or EU.
Proactively works with global HEOR and country-level leads to help develop effective local research and access strategies.
Help develop KOL and external payer influencer relationships and research collaborations.
Ensures compliance with SOPs, and with legal and ethical standards.
Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way. Well-articulated and experienced in compiling and synthesizing data from multiple sources into coherent and concise messages.
At least 2 years of HEOR experience in the pharmaceutical or related industries with advanced degree in health science or economics (PhD or PharmD preferred).
Knowledge of HTA assessment methodologies, EU reimbursement environment, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with EU HTA systems including previous submissions (e.g., NICE, SMC, AWMSG and NCPE).
Experience with development of health economics models (e.g., markov, discreet event, budget impact, etc.).
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Track record of strong liaisons with international thought leaders in the area of HTA and/or HEOR.
Good knowledge of bibliographic databases (e.g. Medline, EMBASE, CENTRAL).
Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented.
Attention to details and ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
