LEO Pharma, Ic. has an exciting role for a Director, HEOR in our Madison NJ office.
In this role you will provide a credible scientific bridge between LEO and health care system decision makers in Managed Care, Medicare and institutional settings by providing scientific, medical, and pharmacoeconomic support for LEO initiatives in dermatology. You will also serve as the field-based scientific interface between Medical Strategy - Scientific Affairs and health care systems by facilitating the conduct and communication of value-based pharmacoeconomic and health outcomes research.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manages the ongoing scientific exchange with policy makers as it relates to clinical information, scientific discussions, and health outcomes research.
Develops, supports, and maintains professional relationships with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive medical and scientific support in selected therapeutic areas.
Assists internal stakeholders and other field personnel in interpretation of key scientific data to support decisions of policy makers.
Prepares and delivers fair balanced and comprehensive responses/information to clinical and scientific concerns of health care decision makers.
Facilitates scientific education and research activities for policy makers and associations regarding new therapies developed and commercialized by the company.
Provides leadership and acts as a strategic interface with managed markets KOLs and home office senior management to provide ongoing input for corporate strategic plans
Interfaces with CAMs in response to appropriate unsolicited scientific requests
Participates in national, cross-functional, or departmental projects or activities as appropriate. Understands business and scientific trends in the healthcare environment.
Establish a respected presence in the managed care setting while adhering to regulatory, legal, OIG, PhRMA, and corporate compliance guidelines for scientific exchange and also respecting the role of other internal stakeholders.
Responsible for managing multiple projects and activities on schedule.
Complete all company-based and job-related training as assigned by LEO Pharma within the required timeline.
Additional duties as assigned by LEO Pharma Management
Identify data gaps and opportunities for HEOR analysis in collaboration with Medical Franchise Teams, and Market Access colleagues.
Collaborate with Global functions, brand and project teams as needed.
Identify publication opportunities in collaboration with Scientific Communications colleagues.
Responsible for HEOR study design and execution.
Communicate scientific and pharmacoeconomic data for LEO products to health care system decision makers responsible for managing medical care in various settings including managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit management companies, payer groups, or at company-sponsored advisory board meetings.
Requires high levels of key account and thought leader management including consultation with customers on comparative effectiveness, place in therapy, appropriate use, and health outcomes of supported products.
Internally communicate scientific, clinical, health outcomes and pharmacoeconomic research objectives identified by health care decision makers
Assist in the training of Medical Liaisons, Account Managers, and other LEO personnel regarding health outcomes research and pharmacoeconomic data, in addition to disease state management, managed care, and product knowledge.
Terminal or Doctorate degree with relevant experience required. (PharmD/PhD/ MD is required. A minimum of 8+ years post-graduate experience in a managed care setting and/or pharmaceutical industry is required.)
Minimum of 3 years of previous HEOR experience
Experience in dermatology highly desirable.
Experience and knowledge of appropriate interactions between manufacturers and payers required
Demonstrable experience in designing and executing on HEOR protocol elements within clinical development programs.
Demonstrated business and scientific acumen
Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific information is imperative.
Strong presentation and teaching skills.
Ability to learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively
Ability to work successfully with a wide number of personality styles and management practices
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
Strong conflict resolution skills, ability to work independently and excellent platform skills
Proven oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel overnight ~30% of the time required.
High degree of proficiency in analytical skills.
