Primary Function of Position:
The Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Team at Intuitive Surgical is seeking a highly motivated, hard-working, professional data analyst to support the HEOR related scientific publications.
The contractor will provide analytical and consultative support to HEOR and participate in scientific evidence creation activities. Specifically, the contractor will analyze large healthcare databases and present the findings through congress abstracts and/or manuscripts. The contractor will also be responsible for presenting and interpreting the results/findings to internal corporate colleagues in cross functional teams. He/she will provide analytical and consultative support to the other members of the team and colleagues from other departments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of HEOR-related research projects that support the value proposition for products in key clinical areas. Projects include large scale epidemiological studies, patient reported outcomes, health economics modeling & systematical literature searches.
Implement health economic and outcomes studies from inception to completion, including preparing study protocols, statistical analysis plan (SAP), study reports, abstracts and manuscripts
Perform statistical analysis using large healthcare databases (e.g., insurance claims, electronic medical records)
Review and critique medical and evidence-based outcomes literature & statistical analyses in surgery
Respond to ad hoc data generation requests
Present and interpret findings to across functional teams, including market access, hospital channel marketing, clinical affairs, biostatistics, market research, clinical and product marketing, and publication teams
Deliver and present the results/findings through congress abstracts and/or manuscripts where possible
Track the HEOR project plan, the timelines, and the deliverables across HEOR studies to assure the deliverables are aligned with the strategic goals in a timely manner
Assist to develop and maintain the Global Value Dossier
Bachelor or master's degree in health economics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, public health, or related field
Experience in HEOR related observational study design, implementation, analysis and publication
Strong statistical programming skills using SAS, R and/or STATA
Experience working in a collaborative project team/environment
Outstanding ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Two or more years of experience in statistical programming using SAS, R and/or STATA
Experience in analyzing large, real world healthcare databases (e.g., insurance claims, electronic medical records, patient discharge data)
Record of publications in health economics, health services research, epidemiology or clinical journals
