Chief Medical Information Officer
South Shore Health
Weymouth, MA

We are seeking an individual with strong leadership and technical skills to serve as our Chief Medical Information Officer. In this position, you will provide leadership for all information systems that assist nurses, physicians and other clinical colleagues in the delivery of patient care.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the executive leads and determine the overall direction, goals, tactics and objectives for the clinical informatics department
  • Oversee the financial goals and ongoing financial performance of the clinical informatics department
  • Ensure alignment and execution of key priorities and advocate for innovative technologies in support of safety, quality and effective patient care
  • Serve as the clinical informatics leader overseeing the clinical informatics team of nurses and physicians across the enterprise in support of organizational objectives
  • Design and implement clinical workflows that integrate with technology to promote efficiency
  • Evaluate and facilitate the adoption of emerging clinical technologies to enhance care provided at South Shore Health, improve quality and safety and enhance patient and provider satisfaction
  • Collect and monitor data the speaks to the stability of existing processes and identify opportunities for leading and sustaining clinical improvement
  • Promote technology solutions and facilitate communication plans to help manage change for the organization
  • Oversee and provide leadership, mentoring, effective supervision and personnel management of the clinical informatics staff and resources

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. required
  • Board certification/license in any clinical specialty that is valid in the state of Massachusetts; Board certification in clinical informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a Chief Medical Information Officer or comparable leadership position in a healthcare setting; experience managing a Clinical Informatics team preferred
  • Proven track record of Epic EMR implementation and/or optimization of analytics
  • Completion of an AMIA Health Informatics Certification (AHIC) program preferred
  • Ability to manage projects using process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen and PDSA
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
